Security Video Interface

Category : New Features

Build: 7416.1

Date: 4-Mar-13

This version of Paladin POS allows details of all POS checkout functions to be overlaid or joined with the video
collected by your Watcher Total Protection video surveillance system. With this new feature the task of finding
and reviewing a recorded video event in your store has become significantly easier. Maybe a customer reports
to you they didn’t leave the checkout lane with their purchases, or perhaps they are reporting that change
wasn’t returned to them.

With the Watcher Total Protection video surveillance system you may search video based on a detail of the
sale. For example, you can find video of a sale containing a specific product sold, invoice amount, payment
type, invoice number or many cashier actions (like triggering the cash drawer to open without a sale). No
longer must you stream forwards and backwards hoping to catch a specific event.

If you have interest in using this feature with your Watcher Total Protection system, Paladin Customer Support
will be happy to perform the configuration necessary in Paladin POS to enable this new family of features.
Should you be looking for a new video security system, Watcher Total Protection is worthy of consideration.

When will I have this feature or update?

Features and updates are announced when they are completed, but are not usually available until the next general release.

This feature or update is available in your store when your Paladin Point of Sale build is the same or later than the build cited in this notice. You compare builds by number.

To determine if you have a feature or update, compare the feature and Paladin Point of Sale build numbers.

Example 1

  • Your Paladin Point of Sale build number: 2_11
  • Feature or update build number: 9766
New build number system -- you have this feature

You can use this feature or update because build 2_11 is later than build 9766.

Example 2

  • Your Paladin Point of Sale build number: 2_11
  • Feature or update build number: 2_430
New build number system -- you don't have this feature

You cannot use this feature or update because build 2_11 is earlier than build 2_430.

The feature or update build number is in the build announcement.

Build number in features browser

To find your Paladin Point of Sale build number, on the Help menu, click About. In the About Point of Sale window, look for the Version number. The build number is the first and third Version numbers with an underscore between them. If the first number is a 1, it is omitted.
